Results of Survey conducted on ISP functioning

A survey conducted on the functioning of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) revealed shocking results. Among the 491 people who were part of the survey conducted during the period of December 2010 to January 2011, about 45% were dissatisfied with the service provided by their respective ISP. About one-third of them were considering of changing their ISP. The major problems with these ISPs were low broadband speed and customer support of poor quality.

There are other problems awaiting ISPs in 2011. They would have to shed the ‘unlimited usage’ tag owing to strict regulations. Also, the ISPs would have to raise their prices to conform to the new regulations like the Digital Economy Act.

Altogether, 2011 is not a good year for ISP customers.
